Our trip to Washington, DC... Ethan at the top of the Washington Monument looking out- "Ohhh, neat" is his new favorite expression.
Ethan on the airplane and looking out of the plane- he was a perfect boy on the plane- we couldn't believe it- we kept him occupied by feeding him the pretzels- one at a time, which took about an hour to eat the whole little bag- just in time to land- he just sat on my lap and looked out the window and never said a word- almost makes you want to go on plane rides all the time with a 1 1/2 year old!!

Ethan at the Capitol (then him running away from us and never looking back- it's starting already!!) But we found a buckeye tree here and Ethan kept picking up buckeyes and putting them in our backpack- we ended up with quite a collection after he was done!!

We couldn't leave DC without a visit to the zoo on Sunday- of course Ethan loved all the animals. Overall, we had a great trip- Ethan was really good the whole time (except for the capitol tour) and we walked a lot and all were tired when we got back (and ready to go back to work just to rest!!)

Ethan reading his book sitting in his "new" Elmo chair we found at a garage sale- a good wash and some new foam on the bottom and it was as good as new- he walks around the house dragging the chair behind him so he always has a place to sit down :)














Ethan, Nick and Alex (Kristy's boys) down in Columbus- we stopped to visit after our trip to the state fair- it was hard trying to get all 3 kids to look at you at the same time to get a good picture!











Ethan and I walking around the Ohio State fair- we saw all the animals, the butter cow and all the 4-H projects- it was hot and we forgot the stroller so by the time Ethan was ready for a nap at 3 in the afternoon, we had seen everything and were ready to see Kristy and Dave and their 2 boys.

Graduation Day- Poor Ethan is trying to survive my graduation- he didn't last long, considering it was a 3 hour ceremony but Grandma and Grandpa tried to keep him occupied. He was happy to get home and start swimming with all the other kids at the party!!

Our Trip to the Zoo... We went to the Toledo Zoo last week, Ethan picked out all the duckies and babies we saw, but wasn't sure about the big animals like the elephants and Rhinos- as long as they didn't move they were okay :)
The Polar Bears were swimming right up to the glass, which Ethan thought was pretty neat- he thought they looked like puppies in the water!!

Ethan found his sunglasses for this summer and really likes to play with them!!!
On Good Friday we went with our friend Chad down to Carey, OH for a 7 mile walk (we walked, Ethan rode in the stroller) - both Chad and Ethan were exhausted by the end of the afternoon- I think Chad fell asleep faster than Ethan!!

We've been keeping busy around our house- Ethan has loved the warm weather- as soon as we get up in the morning he will grab his shoes and want to go outside, when we get home in the evening he wants to stay outside. We're working on the outside of our house- getting landscaping done and getting ready to paint the kitchen and porch additions....

Here is Ethan and Kristy's boys, Nick and Alex at Match Day last week- I will be headed to Fort Wayne, Indiana for residency this summer.

Just pictures of Ethan hanging out at home- he now walks all the time, we haven't seen him crawl in over a week. (he's also getting much better at not falling down!

Here is Ethan talking on his cell phone (and after his bath he ran away from us before we could put clothes on him!!) Anyway, he loves pressing buttons on the phone and holding it to his ear a babble away- it's too funny to watch :)
This is Ethan's dumptruck that he loves to play with but always makes him so mad because he thinks he needs to ride it all the time, or he'll tip the bed over and then can't figure out how to set it back up... we need to hide this toy for a few months til he's a little older....

Here is Ethan in his new toy room- we finally finished the front living room and dining room (just in time for his birthday party) and so the old living room is Ethan's toy room for now, eventually it will be our kitchen, but that's a few years off....
